Claire  was taught to knit by her grandmother when she was 6 years old, by the time she was 13 she was hand knitting  jumpers using commercial knitting patterns. Claire has been hand spinning different fibres for over 20 years, and has had numerous solo exhibitions across the South West of England of her hand spun and hand knitted garments, which she designs herself using different eco friendly fibres such as wool, silk,alpaca, mohair, soya protein fibre and bamboo. The natural dyes she uses   come from onion skins, lettuce and ivy berries to name just a few that she brews up herself.

Claire is a member of the
 Somerset Guild of Craftsmen 
Westward Ho and Bideford Art Society,
Claire often writes articles in The Smallholder,  Home Farmer, Workbox  and Knit magazines on different subjects including hand spinning, natural dyeing and hand knitting.

The Good Life Press Ltd has published a book by Claire, 'Hand Spinning and natural dyeing'  this is available now in books shops in UK and in the USA
